The Franco-Sri Lankan Business Council is a non-profit organization established in 1999 with the head office in Lyon and a branch office in Colombo . The main objective of the Council is to promote economic, social and cultural ties between the two countries.

The Council is actively supported in France by the CGPME (Confederation of Small & Medium Sized Companies – Rhône/Rhône-Alpes region), the Classe Export and the Sri Lankan Embassy in Paris . It is promoting the Maison de Ceylan in Lyon .

In Sri Lanka , the Council works closely with the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, the BOI (Board of Investment of Sri Lanka) and the French Trade Commission.
